The Lion Program

OVERVIEW

Pack 6 is proud to have been part of the Councils initial pilot Lion program and starting in 2018 the Lion program became an official part of the BSA program. Kindergarten boys and girls along with their parent or caring adult partner join Scouting together.  A group of six to eight scouts and their adult partners meet together in a group called a Den which meet twice per month.  The Lion program encourages boys and girls to learn and explore through hands on, high energy activities.  Most meetings and outings are approximately 45 minutes in length.

RECOGNITION

Scouts are recognized for their accomplishments as they work toward the Lion badge.  The Lion badge is earned by completing five adventures that are completed during the den meetings and outings.

LEADERSHIP

Den meetings and outings are facilitated by a Lion Den Leader and participating parents with help from the adult partners. Scouting is a volunteer program so support from everyone makes a fulfilling program.

UNIFORM

The uniform for Lions is designed to be simple and inexpensive.  Lion T-shirts are available at Rainbow Council Store for about $10 each.  Adults may wear the Lion T-Shirt or any adult Scout uniform shirt. The Lion hat is not required by the Pack but you are welcome to purchase it.
